MONKEY NUT CAFE WINS BRONZE MEDAL

AT THE QANTAS AUSTRALIA TOURISM AWARDS IN FREMANTLE

Last night something pretty unbelievable happened.

The Monkey Nut Café was awarded Bronze at the Australian Tourism Awards for Tourism Restaurants & Catering Services.

That means our little café in Lyndoch was recognised as one of the best tourism restaurants in the whole country.

Honestly… we are still trying to wrap our heads around it.

Just a few years ago Monkey Nut Café was a quiet little secret in the Barossa. A place where locals would pop in for lunch, kids would run across the lawn, and families would spend a lazy afternoon together.

Now somehow we found ourselves standing in Fremantle at the National Tourism Awards, alongside some of the most incredible tourism operators in Australia.

And we walked away with Bronze.

But the truth is this award belongs to all of you.
~ Every person who has visited for lunch.
~ Every family that has celebrated a birthday with us.
~ Every kid who has climbed on the tractor. 🚜
~ Every couple who shared a bottle of wine on the lawn.
~ Every person who told a friend to come and visit.

You helped turn a little café into something truly special.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

We feel incredibly proud to represent the Barossa Valley on the national stage and we can’t wait to welcome you back soon.

Cheers,

Michael, Tina & Jesse Kies from the Perth Airport

  1. Congratulations and so well deserved!
As a customer of Kies for 37years now, I’ve seen you go from strength to strength. It’s always a MUST stop when I’m out in the Barossa for a few bottles or a luncheon at Monkey Nut. Well done to Michael, Tina and Kies team.
