An Accessible Cafe in the Barossa Valley, where everyone is Welcome

Everyone Deserves a Seat at the Table

When people think about accessibility, they often think about ramps, accessible parking or wheelchair-friendly toilets.

And while those things are incredibly important, we’ve always believed accessibility is about something much bigger.

It’s about making sure every person who walks through our doors feels comfortable, confident and genuinely welcome.

At the Monkey Nut Café, we don’t believe anyone should have to wonder whether they’ll be able to enjoy lunch with family, catch up with friends over coffee, or simply soak up the beautiful Barossa views. Hospitality should be for everyone.

More Than Just Accessibility

We’re incredibly proud that the Monkey Nut Café and Kies Family Wines have been independently accredited by the Tourism Industry Council South Australia (TiCSA) as both Wheelchair Friendly and Limited Mobility Friendly.

But the truth is, this isn’t something we’ve done just to receive an accreditation.

It’s simply who we are.

As a family business, we’ve always believed that everyone deserves to feel welcome, regardless of age, ability or circumstance. Whether you’re visiting with grandparents, toddlers, assistance animals, a wheelchair, a walking frame, sensory needs, or simply want to know what to expect before arriving, we want your visit to feel relaxed from the moment you pull into our car park.

Our goal is simple.

We don’t want accessibility to feel like a separate service.

We want it to simply feel like hospitality.

Designed for Every Generation

One of the things we love most about the Monkey Nut Café is watching multiple generations gather around the same table.

Grandparents enjoying a pot of tea.

Parents relaxing over lunch.

Kids climbing the tree, playing on the lawns or colouring in while waiting for their milkshakes.

Friends celebrating birthdays.

Coach groups discovering the Barossa.

Couples enjoying a long lunch overlooking the vineyards.

It’s a place where everyone belongs.

And that’s exactly how we want it to stay.

Planning Ahead Should Be Easy

We know that for many people, visiting somewhere new can feel a little uncertain.

That’s why we’ve created detailed accessibility information, virtual tours and practical guides to help you understand exactly what to expect before you visit.

Hospitality Is About People

Great food is important.

Great coffee matters.

Beautiful Barossa views certainly don’t hurt.

But at the end of the day, hospitality has always been about people.

It’s about making someone feel comfortable.

It’s about creating memories around the table.

It’s about making every guest feel like they belong.

That’s the kind of place we’ve always wanted Monkey Nut Café to be.

And that’s exactly the kind of place we’ll continue to build.

Because here at Monkey Nut Café, everyone deserves a seat at the table.

We can’t wait to welcome you.
